This drawing is based off my mom’s sculpture “I’m Here. Still Here.” She and I wanted to collaborate in some way for the gallery show “The Motherload” at Mosaic Art Collective in partner with Women’s Caucus for Art NH! The mothers stay home and cope with the fact that their children are going away for a while. Tears can be seen rusting their metal away. Some are tears of joy as they are proud of their children for flying on their own. Some are tears of sorrow as this may be the last time they will see their children. From a child to his mother, know that even though we leave for our own adventures, We Will Return.
